The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  and Canada to and from Mexico, announced today new equipment purchases of 525 new tractors and 1,300 trailers.

The Company said it has purchased the new 1999 and 2000 model year tractors from Freightliner Corporation. These units will replace 400 older units and will reduce significantly the average age of the tractor fleet. The balance of the units will increase the fleet, in response to demand for the Company's services in the north-south lane, between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.

Additionally, the Company is taking delivery of 1,300 new 53' air-ride trailers. These units will be leased from TIP, Inc., a GE Capital Company, and are being built by Ramirez Trailer Corporation of Monterrey, Mexico. These units will replace older units in the fleet.
