Cejka makes emotional return; GOLF.Byline: Mark Garrod THE European Tour's return to the Czech Republic Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north. this week sees German Alex Cejka back in the country from which he and his father fled nearly 30 years ago. Cejka, aged nine at the time, was on holiday when his father told him to swim across a river. He has told the story many times since achieving fame as a golfer both in Europe and America. "I really didn't know where we were going, what was happening and suddenly he hugged me and said 'We did it'. We were in Germany," he said. "I'm very proud of my dad that he made this decision instead of staying. "Nobody was allowed to get out. I think they would shoot us if they catch us, but I don't know - I was too young. "If I'd stayed who knows. I may end up working in a factory." Cejka's father has since moved back to the country and 12 years ago Cejka won a Challenge Tour event there. Winner of the Volvo Masters The Volvo Masters is the concluding official money event of the European Tour season, the equivalent of the Tour Championship on the PGA Tour. The event's official name between 2000 and 2003 was "Volvo Masters Andalucia", but returned to its original name of "Volvo Masters" in 2005. in Spain two years before that, the 38-year-old is now based on the US Tour and in May led the Players Championship after three rounds. The pounds 1.7million Moravia Silesia Silesia (sĭlē`zhə, –shə, sī–), Czech Slezsko, Ger. Schlesien, Pol. Śląsk, region of E central Europe, extending along both banks of the Oder River and bounded in the south by the Open, which got underway today, takes place at the Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna. Miguel Angel Jimenez is the bestknown player on show and the Ryder Cup Ryder Cup Biennial team golf event first held in 1927. It was originally played between teams of golfers from the U.S. and Britain; since 1979 players opposing the U.S. have been chosen from all of Europe. The trophy was donated by the British seed merchant Samuel Ryder. Spaniard is hoping his intimate knowledge of the Prosper Golf Resort will give him an advantage. Jimenez co-designed both the Old and New courses at the venue and said: "It is very exciting for me and a great honour as this was my first co-design project. "It's a challenging course, but hopefully everyone will enjoy playing it." The field also includes fellow Ryder Cup pair David Howell David Howell is a name shared by several notable men:
