Cedar Group, Inc's Dominion Bridge subsidiary formalized its alliance with the Canadian Centre for Composite Materials.


MONTREAL, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1995--Dominion Bridge, Inc. ("DB") the engineering infrastructure subsidiary of CEDAR GROUP, INC. (NASDAQ/NMS:CGMV; VSE See DOS/VSE.

The newly-formed company will carry the name of DB/CMC Technology Inc. ("DB/CMC") with the ownership structure being 70% DB and 30% CMC.

The new venture will market and commercialize worldwide, on an exclusivity basis, its composite technology for commercial and industrial applications and infrastructure projects including Hydro Electric, Oil and Gas pipelines and Transportation. This composite technology consists of imbedded computer chips linked to an integrated network of fibre optic sensory devices hooked to an artificial intelligence software program that monitors stress and fatigue in the maintenance and security used in industrial infrastructure installations.

DB/CMC has already been awarded a $1.2 million contract for the supply of 1,414 lightweight composite panels required to reface Verb 1. reface - put a new facing on (a garment)
