Cecilia E. Mercier.

WEST BOYLSTON Cecilia Elizabeth Mercier, 90, of Centerville, and formerly of West Boylston and New Port Richey, FL, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Cape Regency & Radius Healthcare Center in Centerville.

Her husband of 64 years, Archie A. Mercier, died in 2003.

She leaves a son, Frank Mercier of Hudson, FL and Leicester; a daughter, Sharon DeCiccio and her husband Jeffrey of Barnstable and Sarasota, FL; a daughter-in-law, Joan Mercier of Palm Harbor, FL; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Gerald Mercier, predeceased her in 1994.

Cecilia lived in Worcester for many years before moving to West Boylston in 1955. She retired to Florida in 1987 and later returned to Worcester. She lived many summers on Cape Cod before recently moving there year-round.

She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester. Cecilia worked in the West Boylston Public Schools for many years and had a part-time career in real estate sales. Of her many interests she was an accomplished artist.

Calling hours are at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Sunday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
