Combined Solution Provides Business-Quality Voice Calls With Increased Flexibility at a Reduced Cost

ATLANTA & BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Cbeyond([R]) (NASDAQ:CBEY), today announced that its BeyondVoice[R] with SIPconnect service, an integrated package of local and long distance voice, broadband Internet and mobile services, is interoperable with Avaya's (NYSE:AV), IP Office solution, a converged voice and data system. Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) is an industry-standard signaling protocol used to establish communication sessions over a data network - from a simple two-way telephone call to a collaborative, multimedia conference. SIPconnect([R]) is an initiative of the SIP Forum (www.sipforum.org) and a registered certification mark of the organization.

By using Avaya IP Office and Cbeyond's BeyondVoice with SIPconnect, businesses are able to improve voice quality and decrease maintenance costs by connecting to the public network without the need for TDM gateways.
