Cazenove Replaces Voice Trading Infrastructure; The Independent Investment Bank Deploys IPC's VoIP-Native Trading Systems.

Business Editors

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 2003

IPC (1) (InterProcess Communication) The exchange of data between one program and another either within the same computer or over a network. It implies a protocol that guarantees a response to a request.  Information Systems, Inc. (IPC), the specialist the global financial community depends on for world class trading floor solutions, today announced that Cazenove Group has decided to upgrade its London trading operations using IPC's state-of-the-art Voice over Internet Protocol See Internet and TCP/IP.

.

The installation, which will be completed later this year, replaces Cazenove's existing voice trading systems with IPC's IQMX(TM) trading desktops, ICMX(TM) Intercom modules and an Alliance MX(TM) back office switch. All of the new devices employ IP to deliver voice, video and data through a single path to the trader's desktop.

IPC is the first company in the financial technology space to build VoIP technology into voice trading systems. The installation provides a high degree of flexibility because it allows traders to use any dealerboard or intercom anywhere on the trading floor at the 180-year-old British financial institution.

"We are very pleased to be a part of Cazenove's decision to refresh (1) To continuously charge a device that cannot hold its content. CRTs must be refreshed, because the phosphors hold their glow for only a few milliseconds. Dynamic RAM chips require refreshing to maintain their charged bit patterns. Among other things, the deployment reflects an important trend in the adoption of VoIP technology in the trading room The notion of "trading room" (sometimes used as a synonym of "trading floor", see below) is widely used in financial markets to refer to the office space where market activities are concentrated in investment banks or brokerage houses.  as more and more firms seek to harness its powerful capabilities," said Colin Knight, president of IPC's Europe, Middle East, and Africa division. "It is also evidence that IPC's reputation for leading edge technology and superior service is continuing to attract customers at Europe's most prestigious institutions."
