, has signed an agreement to construct a rolling weir (Package DR-XL04) for Dambri hydropower plant.

The value of the contract is estimated at $3.12 million and is to be completed in thirty months. This brings Cavico's total awards at the Dambri hydropower plant to over $37 million. This contract represents the fifth contract Cavico has been awarded at Dambri plant. The rolling weir will measure 55 meters in height, 214 meters in length, 16.63 meters at the base with a 6.5 meter upper base.

Vietnam's Dambri Hydropower plant is located 87 miles northeast of Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, city (1997 pop. 5,250,000), on the right bank of the Saigon River, a tributary of the Dong Nai, Vietnam.  in Da Huoai village, near Da Teh city in Lam Dong Province Lam Dong (Vietnamese Lâm Đồng pronunciation  ) is located in the Central Highlands (Tây Nguyên) region of Vietnam. Its capital is Đà Lạt. . Owned by Southern Hydropower Joint Stock Company, the $80 million plant will have a 75MW capacity.

Electricity Vietnam and other power companies are investing in 45 new power plants with a combined capacity of 14,580 megawatts. These plants are anticipated to raise this year's power output by 15% with the domestic demand expected to rise between 17% and 18%, recently reported Toan Viet Limited Company.
