Cave B Inn at SageCliffe Opens; New Destination Incorporates Four-Star Accommodations with Dramatic Landscape.GEORGE, Wash. -- Cave B Inn at SageCliffe, the first destination winery resort in the Northwest, announces its opening. Two hours drive east of Seattle, Cave B Inn sits on 550 acres of land featuring stunning views of the Columbia River created by powerful geological occurrences. Comprised of 30 rooms, accommodations include 15 stand-alone "Cliffehouses," 12 guest rooms in the "Caverns," built directly into the basalt cliffs, and three guest rooms in the lodge. Tendrils Tendrils is an irregular collaboration between noted Australian guitarists, Joel Silbersher and Charlie Owen (musician). A difficult sound to describe, Tendrils features two seemingly chaotic but strangely melodic and complementary, guitar parts and occasionally stripped back restaurant, the bar and meeting rooms are located in the lodge. The buildings are constructed from basalt found on the property. The structures were designed by Seattle architect Tom Kundig and all seem to literally grow out of their surroundings. "We want to share this beautiful land, but at the same time have the awesome responsibility of not desecrating it," said Vince Bryan, co-owner of Cave B Inn. Award-winning Chef Fernando Divina oversees Cave B Inn's culinary program and Tendrils restaurant. Menus highlight regional cuisine paired with local wines, including the wines grown and bottled on the property at Cave B Estate Winery. Wine tasting, wine education and culinary demonstrations are all part of the Cave B Inn experience. Nationally-acclaimed, Divina co-authored the cookbook Smithsonian Institution Foods of the Americas with his wife Marlene. The cookbook recently won the James Beard Foundation Award The James Beard Foundation Awards were established in 1990 and are often called "The Oscars of Food." [1] Held on the first Monday in May, the Awards ceremony honors the finest chefs, restaurants, journalists, cookbook authors, restaurant designers, and electronic . "Cave B Inn is intimate in nature and experimental in design," said Carol Bryan, co-owner of Cave B Inn. Cave B Inn also features an outdoor man-made lake in a steep basalt canyon, a golf driving range, numerous hiking trails, vineyard tours, scheduled music festivals, guest speakers and rotating art exhibits.
