Caution urged for Labor Day boating.

 Massey, a Marine Board spokeswoman. "There are plenty of great places to boat this holiday and we hope people get out and enjoy it - safely."

Massey said the most common boating law violations involve life jackets, boater education cards, boater registration, boat speed and alcohol.

She suggests that before heading out, boaters double-check to make sure they have: a properly fitting life jacket for each person on board and a boater education card (required of most powerboat operators age 50 and younger).
