The diamond is reported to be of gem quality and represents the largest diamond Caussa has recovered to date from the Witkrans deposit. The Witkrans property is situated 120 kilometres west of Johannesburg in the alluvial al·lu·vi·al adj. Diamonds recovered from alluvial gravels in the district are renowned for their high aesthetic quality, large average stone size and high sales value normally in excess of U.S.$400 per carat. To date, Caussa has recovered a total of 173 diamonds with a total combined weight of 133.18 carats. Approximately 5% of the diamonds recovered thus far exceed 2.00 carats while approximately 17% of the diamonds exceed 1.00 carat. Caussa is also pleased to announce that the Corporation has completed the sale of surplus mining and processing equipment for cash proceeds of $215,000.
