Causes of death?(Re: "The Death of a Network," Newspoints, May 2006) I can't tell you how many times I've heard black people complain that the shows on the UPN UPN User Principal Name (Microsoft Windows 2000) UPN United Paramount Network UPN Unión del Pueblo Navarro (Navarrese People Union) UPN Umgekehrte Polnische Notation network are insulting. I think that the writing suffered when [the network] became more about helping rappers and singers sell CDs (and get more PR) than providing good material for talented actors. One of my favorite My Favorite is an independent synthpop band from Long Island, New York. They released two CDs: Love at Absolute Zero and Happiest Days of Our Lives. My Favorite broke up on September 14, 2005, when singer Andrea Vaughn left the band. UPN shows, Moesha, went straight down the drain when nepotism nep·o·tism n. Favoritism shown or patronage granted to relatives, as in business. [French népotisme, from Italian nepotismo, from nepote, nephew, from Latin took over. Another show I recently started watching got better when it concentrated less on the Girlfriends calling each other useless names and other buffoonery, and more on great topics, such as homeownership, careers, single motherhood, and starting a business. I heard that Brandy brandy [for brandywine, from Du.,=burnt, i.e., distilled, wine], strong alcoholic spirit distilled from wine or from marc, the residue of the wine press. The most noted brandy is cognac, made from white grapes in the Charente district of France. said she hated the goody-two-shoes image she portrayed on Moesha, and that Will Smith said he created All of Us to give friends jobs. To Brandy: It's sad you couldn't appreciate parents and daughters loving your show without adding your own personal mess. And Will, make sure your friends have TALENT! I have also noticed that UPN uses the same writers for most of its shows. Maybe that's the problem. I love Everybody Hates Chris Everybody Hates Chris is an African-American sitcom, on The CW Television Network. It is inspired by the teenage experiences of comedian Chris Rock (who narrates the show), while growing up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. because it doesn't feel like some rapper/singer needs exposure. Chris flock concentrated on hiring actors who could tell the story of his childhood, which feels like my childhood, and that's the key to great writing. Sharon Wright Baltimore Webster19994@aol.com |
