Christian Bell had suffered a split lip in an earlier altercation with his brother and he was "annoyed and angry" said Alka Brigue, prosecuting.

She told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Bell saw the 15 year-old outside a takeaway in West Bromwich West Bromwich (brŭm`ĭj, –ĭch, brŏm`wĭch), city (1991 pop. 146,386), Sandwell metropolitan district, W central England.  and he got out of his car and demanded his bike.

He was "very intimidating", said Miss Brigue, and he pushed the yougster off the machine and he then struck his head on a lamppost.

Bell, of Little Tree Road, Yew Tree Estate, Walsall, then got back into the car and he was driven away from the scene but he left blood on the boy's clothing and police were able to track him down.

Bell admitted attempted robbery and he was made the subject of a two-year supervision order and told he must carry out 80 hours community punishment.

He was told by Judge Michael Challinor he must also pay pounds 250 compensation to the boy for his "upset and fright" together with pounds 250 court costs court costs n. fees for expenses that the courts pass on to attorneys, who then pass them on to their clients or, in some kinds of cases, to the losing party. .

The judge told Bell he was satisfied his motive behind the offence was based on his anger from the earlier incident and he added: "It was your loss of temper rather than an attempt to take this bike."
