Murray, of Greenbourne Gardens, Windy Nook, Gateshead, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance and will be sentence by Gateshead magistrates later this week. Defending, Tom Iceton said Murray's girlfriend normally takes him where he wants to go but she was ill that day.

The couple, he said, are having problems with the her ex-boyfriend, and Murray foolishly took the car to avoid any problems with the ex.
