According to Fr. Daniel Madigan, the new Vatican consultator for relations with Muslims, Pope Benedict has no hesitation in speaking honestly about serious concerns. Benedict proposed that committed Christians, Jews, Muslims and persons of other faiths work diligently in dialogue to find common grounds of understanding. Fr. Madigan said that the Pope is more interested in dialoguing with people than with systems, in speaking about Muslims, rather than about Islam.
