Catholic Healthcare West Contributes $250,000 to Tsunami Relief; Catholic Relief Services Receives Financial Support from Not-for-Profit Health System.

) announced today a $250,000 donation to Catholic Relief Services Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is the official international relief and development agency of the U.S. Catholic community. Founded in 1943 by the U.S. bishops, the agency provides assistance to 80 million people in 99 countries and territories in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the  to aid the victims of the earthquake and tsunamis that have ravaged rav·age

It is times like this that we all become involved in bringing relief to those who have been affected by devastation," said Lloyd Dean, president/chief executive officer of CHW. "We are all touched by this tragedy and are holding all those affected in our hearts and prayers."

Many CHW hospital foundations are also receiving donations from hospital employees who wish to make a contribution to those affected by the tsunamis. The foundations are delivering those donations to local branches of various relief organizations.
