Catherine Viscardi Johnston rejoins Conde Nast as Mademoiselle publisher.NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 1995--Steven T. Florio, Conde Nast president, announced today that Catherine Viscardi Johnston is coming back to Conde Nast as the publisher of Mademoiselle. She joins Mademoiselle from Mirabella where she was publisher until now and replaces Julie Lewit-Nirenberg who has been named director of special projects, working on potential new titles for the corporation. Viscardi Johnston has had a distinguished publishing career which started at Conde Nast in 1977 on the sales staff of House and Garden. Moving to GQ in 1980, she was named advertising manager of Self in 1983. She rose to the position of advertising director at Self but left in 1991 to be appointed associate publisher at Architectural Digest Architectural Digest is a glossy American monthly magazine. Its principle subject is interior design, not -- as the name of the magazine might suggest -- architecture more generally. The magazine is published by Condé Nast Publications and was founded in 1920 [1]. later that year. She joined New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of magazine in January of 1993 as advertising director, a position she held until joining Mirabella in February of 1994. Lewit-Nirenberg joined Conde Nast in 1991 from Mirabella also where since its launching in 1988 she was publisher.
