WORCESTER Catherine "Kitty" V. (Tod) Mitchell, 89, of 18 Lanesboro Road, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Her husband of 63 years, William A. Mitchell William A. Mitchell (1911 - July 26, 2004) was an American food chemist who, while working for General Foods Corporation between 1941 and 1976, was the key inventor behind Pop Rocks, Tang, quick-set Jell-O, Cool Whip, powdered egg whites. , Jr. died in March of 2007. She leaves two sons, William A. Mitchell III and his wife Linda of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota Brooklyn Park is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States.
