Cathay Pacific Airways-USA to hold first-ever Internet CyberAuction; CyberTravelers can bid for 50 Business Class round trips to Hong Kong -- no minimum bid.

The auction was designed exclusively for Cathay's CyberTravelers as part of the airline's efforts to launch the new Cathay Pacific Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (HKSE: 0293 ) is an airline based in Hong Kong, operating scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 104 destinations worldwide. The contest will kick off on Friday, Oct. 13, when Cathay Pacific sends an e-mail to its 40,000-plus CyberTravelers announcing the full details of the CyberAuction. Cathay's CyberTravelers are Internet users residing in the United States who wish to receive occasional e-mails from Cathay Pacific containing exclusive special offers.

Only individuals registered as CyberTravelers will be eligible to bid in the CyberAuction. Interested parties are advised to register as CyberTravelers now by visiting the Cathay-USA World Wide Web site at http://www.cathay-usa.com and filling out an electronic registration form.

The e-mail message, which will be sent out on Oct. 13, will explain the rules and instruct bidders on how to submit a bid price. Bids will be accepted for two weeks, from Friday, Oct. 13, through Thursday, Oct. 26. Beginning Monday, Oct. 29, bids will be sorted and the highest bidders will be sent an e-mail advising how to purchase the tickets.

Once purchased, the trip is 100 percent nonrefundable or nonchangeable, and other conditions and restrictions apply. A winning bidder may purchase a second ticket for a companion at the bid price, if desired.
