Catering award; NORTH TODAY: COUNCIL NEWS.NORTH Tyneside North Tyneside is a metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear in the North East of England. Its seat is at the Town Hall, Wallsend. Created in 1974, the borough lies within the historic county boundaries of Northumberland. Council's Catering Services Team has picked up a top national catering award. The team won best Specialist Catering Team at the Local Authority Caterer's Association (LACA) Awards 2009. The LACA Awards honour individuals and teams that make a difference in local authority catering, and out of the six awards up for grabs, the authority had been nominated nom·i·nate tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates 1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election. 2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor. for four. North Tyneside Council's Catering Services Manager Barbara Patterson is delighted with the prize. She said: "Winning a LACA award is a huge honour and a acknowledges the dedication of our staff.
