Catapult Communications Upgrades 3G Test Capabilities.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2001

Catapult Communications (Nasdaq:CATT) announced that the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) An algorithm that is widely used for data compression. Similar to Fast Fourier Transform, DCT converts data (pixels, waveforms, etc.) into sets of frequencies. The first frequencies in the set are the most meaningful; the latter, the least. 2000(TM) test system has been upgraded for testing the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Program) commercial standard level, Release 99 June 2001 version.

The DCT2000 test system now supports the 3GPP June 2001 specifications for the following protocols: RANAP RANAP Radio Access Network Application Protocol (3GPP)
RANAP Ran Application Part
, RNSAP RNSAP RNS Application Part
RNSAP Radio Network Subsystem Application Part
, NBAP, CM/MM, SM/GMM, Iu-UP, PDCP, GTP GTP (guanosine triphosphate): see guanine. , MAP, RRC, RLC RLC Residual lung capacity , MAC and FP.
