Catapult Communications Receives First Orders From Lucent Technologies, Inc. Following Global Volume Purchasing Agreement.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2000

Catapult Communications (Nasdaq:CATT), a leading provider of advanced software-based test systems to the telecom industry, announced today receipt of first orders from Lucent Technologies's Swindon, U.K. facility for DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) An algorithm that is widely used for data compression. Similar to Fast Fourier Transform, DCT converts data (pixels, waveforms, etc.) into sets of frequencies. The first frequencies in the set are the most meaningful; the latter, the least. 2000 test systems. These orders follow the signing of a global volume purchase agreement in August of this year.
