: CATS) today announced two new Serial CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Pronounced "c-moss." The most widely used integrated circuit design. It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  EEPROMS, the CAT24C32 and CAT24C64. The new products support high-density, cost-sensitive I2C bus applications, such as cellular phones, digital satellite systems, telecommunications, settop boxes, modems, networking and monitors. Both products are offered with write protect (CAT24WC32/64) or without write protect (CAT24C32/64), the widest operating voltage range available (1.8V-6.0V), higher operating frequency (400KHz), ultra low standby power (0uA), 100K endurance and 100 years date retention. The devices are available now in P (DIP) and K (SOIC (Small Outline IC) A small-dimension, plastic, rectangular, surface mount chip package that uses gull-wing pins extending outward. Scott Parker, the Company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing said, "The CAT24C32 and CAT24C64 will represent much of the growth in the Serial EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM) A rewritable memory chip that holds its content without power. Although EEPROMs spawned flash memory, EEPROMs are byte addressable at the write level, whereas flash chips must erase a block of bytes before rewriting.  market next year. The CAT24C32 and CAT24C64 position Catalyst to capitalize on this growth with industry leading specifications for operating voltage and frequency."

Except for those statements that report the Company's historical results, the statements being made are forward looking statements. Actual results could differ materially from those projected in the forward looking statements. Additional information concerning factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those in the forward looking statements is contained under the heading "Certain Factors That May Affect the Company's Future Results of Operations" listed from time to time in Catalyst's SEC reports, including but not limited to the report on form 10-K for the year ended April 30, 1996.

Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. designs and markets a broad range of nonvolatile semiconductor memory products, including Flash Memories, Parallel EEPROMs, and Serial EEPROMs. Catalyst has signed a license agreement for Intel's flash technology. Its headquarters are in Sunnyvale, California.
