Catalog 1 announces test venues for 1995.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 1995--Consistent with its repositioning as an interactive-driven upscale catalog shopping mall, Catalog 1, a joint venture between Time Warner Entertainment and Spiegel Inc. today announced it is developing a World Wide Web site on the Internet. Like Catalog 1's television home shopping, the web site shopping service will be based on Catalog 1's roster of upscale catalog companies: Spiegel, Eddie Bauer, The Sharper Image, Crate & Barrel, Williams-Sonoma, The Nature Company, The Bombay Company, Neiman Marcus, Time Warner Viewer's Edge, and Book-of-the-Month Club. The web site is scheduled to be operational in early spring.

In addition, Catalog 1 announced that it is currently in production on full motion TV programming to augment its interactive TV application on Time Warner's Full Service Network from the current six catalogs to a full complement of 10. By yearend, Catalog 1 will be offering more than 1,000 products for sale on the FSN (Full-Service Network) A communications network that provides shopping, movies on demand and access to databases and a variety of interactive services. . The Full Service Network was successfully introduced in the Orlando, Fla. cable TV market on Dec. 14, 1994, with Catalog 1 programming offered as part of a constellation of interactive shopping services.

Finally, Catalog 1 announced an agreement with WLIG-TV 55 for its television home shopping programs to be carried Saturday mornings in the metropolitan New York New York, state, United States

Rod Parker, general manager of Catalog 1, said: "As we begin our second year at Catalog 1, our goal continues to be to distinguish ourselves as the premier content provider of upscale catalog shopping programming. Our multi-platform test approach this year is designed to yield the information that positions us to take best advantage of the interactive and analog distribution roll-out potentials of the future."
