Four-month-old Daisy sparked the drama after becoming trapped between two garages in Beech Road, Oxley.

Owner Julie Burke, aged 39, said last night: "I heard her purring purring

a physiologically very complicated, semi-automatic, cyclic, controlled respiration involving alternating activity of the diaphragm and intrinsic laryngeal muscles in cats. The frequency of the alternation is about 25 times per second.

Nearly four hours later Daisy was finally freed and sent to a vet for two nights' observation.

She is now back home.
