Castle Oil Corp. luminary, Louis Romita, dead at 78.Louis Romita, Sr., senior vice president of Castle Oil Corporation, brother of Michael, Mary Digirolamo, Jack and Mauro C. Romita died on April 10. 2007. He was aged 78. Mr Romita was born in the Bronx to Libertaria and Mauro, on August 14, 1928, the same year that his father founded Castle Coal and Oil. He began working for the company as a boy after school and joined Castle full time in 1945, ultimately performing almost every job in the company, from delivery driver driving to sales. Mr. Romita eventually assumed full responsibility for the dispatching department and remained, until his death, the senior Romita in charge of commercial and public bids. Mr. Romita had been a key relationship manager for many of the company's most important and largest customers. He also served on the company's board of directors. Mr. Romita was a long-time member of the New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Athletic Club and was recently honored by the Grand Street Boys' Association for his dedicated support.
