Castle Energy Corporation(a) (Nasdaq:CECX) (the "Company") announced that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $.05 per share payable on July July: see month.  14, 2000, to holders of record on July 10, 2000.

The dividend declaration is pursuant to the Company's policy of paying regular quarterly dividends on its common stock. As with any company, the declaration and payment of future dividends are subject to the discretion of the Board of Directors and other factors.

The Company currently owns oil and gas interests in approximately 530 oil and gas wells located in ten states in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . Approximately half of the wells are operated by the Company. The Company also has a fifty percent (50%) interest in three oil and gas concessions in Romania.
