) today announced FaxPress(TM) Lotus Notes Messaging and groupware software from IBM Lotus that was introduced in 1989 for OS/2 and later expanded to Windows, Mac, Unix, NetWare, AS/400 and S/390. Notes provides e-mail, document sharing, workflow, group discussions and calendaring and scheduling. Incoming faxes appear in users' Inboxes as if they were incoming e-mail messages. Castelle's FaxPress is an integrated fax server allowing users to easily send and receive faxes across PSTN, Internet, intranet and extranet using intelligent least-cost routing-whether on Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. , NetWare, or both. FaxPress Lotus Notes and cc:Mail Gateways are two of several software add-ons that integrate FaxPress with third-party applications.

FaxPress Lotus Notes Gateway runs on a Windows NT workstation while FaxPress cc:Mail Gateway runs in a Windows environment (1) (upper case "W") Refers to computers running under a Microsoft Windows operating system.
