Castelle Announces FaxPress Lotus Notes and CC:Mail Gateway 4.0 to Fax-Enable Lotus Notes and cc:Mail Users; First ADSI-Enabled Fax Server to Support Native Attachments.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1997--Castelle (NASDAQ:CSTL) today announced FaxPress(TM) Lotus Notes(R) and cc:Mail(TM) Gateways Version 4.0, which enable Lotus(R) Messaging users to send and receive faxes over the PSTN, intranet and the Internet -- just as they would e-mail messages.

New in Version 4.0, Lotus Notes and cc:Mail users can e-mail file attachments to fax recipients just as they would to e-mail recipients, or fax documents in a single step from their office applications by using the "Send to mail recipient" feature. Incoming faxes appear in users' Inboxes as if they were incoming e-mail messages. The FaxPress gateways are fully integrated with the Lotus Notes and cc:Mail address books and don't require any software at the client end.

FaxPress Lotus Notes Gateway runs on a Windows NT workstation while FaxPress cc:Mail Gateway runs in a Windows environment.
