) today announced the release of the FaxPress(TM) Corporate Value Package, a cost-effective software bundle providing extended fax functionality such as e-mail connectivity, remote server management and the security of extended customer support.

It is designed to work with Castelle's four-line FaxPress 3500 or the recently announced eight-line FaxPress 5000 plug-and-play fax server units. The FaxPress Corporate Value Package contains a choice of either SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) The standard e-mail protocol on the Internet and part of the TCP/IP protocol suite, as defined by IETF RFC 2821. SMTP defines the message format and the message transfer agent (MTA), which stores and forwards the mail.  or Exchange/Outlook Direct e-mail connectors, an extended customer support program, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  functionality, and a multi-protocol software option. Choice of Either SMTP or Exchange/Outlook Direct E-mail Connectors

With either of these email-to-fax connections, FaxPress units can provide fax functionality to all popular e-mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox.  or any SMTP based e-mail system. With both connectors, users can simply compose a message including native file attachments and then send it to a distribution list comprised of both fax and e-mail recipients.
