Streamlined Fax Routing To implement fax routing capabilities, businesses are using a Direct Inward Dialing (DID) service that assigns virtual numbers to one or more lines used for inbound traffic only. Because the DID channel cannot provide bi-directional communication, businesses must also purchase and maintain additional channels for outbound traffic. With ISDN, this problem is permanently solved. ISDN allows the assignment of virtual numbers to each channel that at the same time can be used for outbound fax traffic when needed.
