Supports up to 60 Simultaneous Fax Connections

Magnus Bergsson, Castelle's product manager, said, "ISDN PRI brings higher-density, more cost-effective connectivity to Object-Fax than was possible with other line interfaces. With two sets of Dialogic PRI cards installed, Object-Fax can reliably support up to 60 simultaneous fax connections, more than any other fax server in the industry."

"Dialogic is pleased to be providing the global PRI solution for Castelle to build large-scale fax server systems," said John Taylor John Taylor, or Johnny Taylor may refer to: Academic figures

, General Manager Dialogic Fax Business Unit. "By offering PRI support as a transparent layer in our new development kit, we allowed Castelle to rapidly develop an industry-leading ISDN PRI fax server."

Streamlined Fax Routing

To implement fax routing capabilities, businesses are using a Direct Inward Dialing (DID) service that assigns virtual numbers to one or more lines used for inbound traffic only. Because the DID channel cannot provide bi-directional communication, businesses must also purchase and maintain additional channels for outbound traffic. With ISDN, this problem is permanently solved. ISDN allows the assignment of virtual numbers to each channel that at the same time can be used for outbound fax traffic when needed. Thus, with ISDN there is no need to maintain and bear the cost of two sets of channels to enable fax routing capabilities.

Faster Call Setup

Because ISDN uses out-of-band signaling, it takes less than a second to set up a call. In contrast, with analog services, it might take up to 20 seconds. The benefit of ISDN faster call setup capabilities is quickly realized on systems with high outbound traffic requirements or on fax broadcast systems.

Supported Hardware

The Dialogic DTI/240SC, DTI/241SC, DTI/300SC, DTI/301SC, DTI/480SC, and DTI/600SC digital interface boards provide PRI support. They can be used with any combination of Dialogic GammaLink CP4/SC, CP6/SC, and CP12/SC fax resource boards, providing maximum flexibility and scalability while protecting the investment in hardware and application code.

Pricing and Availability

The Object-Fax ISDN PRI support is available now at no cost. Current domestic and international Object-Fax users need to contact Castelle at support@castelle.com
