Cast iron hybrid dryer developed.


CAST IRON HYBRID hybrid (hī`brĭd), term applied by plant and animal breeders to the offspring of a cross between two different subspecies or species, and by geneticists to the offspring of parents differing in any genetic characteristic (see genetics).  DRYER DEVELOPED. Nihon Casting Co. of Japan has experimented with a double-layered hybrid Yankee dryer A Yankee dryer is a pressure vessel used in the production of tissue paper.[1] On the Yankee dryer, the paper goes from approximately 40% dryness to just over 95% dryness. . The company manufactures the cast iron that covers the iron sheet on this dryer. Cast iron dryers operate better and give a higher quality tissue product by providing easy release and allowing better creping. Traditional cast iron dryers are heavier than those of iron sheet and have special installation requirements. Nihon Casting developed a hybrid dryer that is approximately ap·prox·i·mate
