Forming metal objects by injecting molten metal under pressure into dies or molds. An early and important use of the technique was in the Linotype machine (1884), but the mass-production automobile assembly line gave die casting its real impetus.
 Association have introduced the Cast in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  Pavilion at CastExpo'10.

CastExpo'10, which will be held March 20-23 in Orlando, Fla. with the 114th Metalcasting Congress, is the leading metalcasting trade show in the Americas. The Cast in North America Pavilion will bring a new dynamic to the exhibition by giving metalcasters the dedicated casting trade show they haven't had.

To complement the Cast in North America Pavilion, new casting design and purchasing technical sessions will be held during the 114th Metalcasting Congress at CastExpo'10. These sessions will provide a forum for metalcasters to present on casting design and purchasing issues, including how to design, process and material basics, process and material advancements, computer-based modeling and simulation, rapid prototyping Building a part one layer at a time using a method of additive fabrication such as 3D printing. Such parts are used for concept modeling to determine if the product design meets the customer's expectations. , casting conversions, identifying suppliers and supply chain management.
