Cassidy Gold to Drill Kouroussa Gold Property in Guinea.Business Editors KAMLOOPS, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 2003 A 2000 metre drill program at Cassidy Gold's (TSX TSX Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE before April, 2002) TSX Transfer from Stack Pointer to Index TSX True Space Extension VENTURE: CDY CDY Cagayan de Sulu, Philippines (Airport Code) ) Kouroussa gold project is scheduled to commence April 25. Earlier exploration at Kouroussa has outlined several significant gold in soil anomalies. The best anomaly, Koe Koe South, consists of a 500 X 500 metre core area averaging 1.02 grams gold per tonne ("g Au/t") from 196 samples, with the greatest value being 40.7 g Au/t. This anomaly extends beyond the present grid to the South. One kilometre to the northwest lies the Sodyanfe anomaly encompassing a comparable area with 213 samples averaging 0.49 g Au/t and ranging up to 8.63 g Au/t. A reverse circulation drill will be used to probe the Koe Koe South and Sodyanfe targets. Cassidy's first objective will be to determine the depth of combined laterite laterite Soil layer rich in iron oxide and sometimes aluminum, derived from a wide variety of rocks by leaching. Cassidy believes that sampling and initial metallurgical testing of these weathered materials could provide the basis for the development of a resource conforming to the standards of National Instrument 43-101. Such a near-surface resource could then be developed at minimal cost while exploration for primary gold targets at depth proceeds. Detailed geological mapping in the vicinity of the known gold-enriched zones will be complemented with regional mapping to cover the whole concession area. Areas of artisanal mining, of which several have already been located, will be subject to more intensive mapping, trenching and sampling.
