Cassidy Gold Corp.: Drilling Resumes at Kouroussa.

Business Editors

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 2004

Drilling has resumed at Cassidy's Kouroussa project in Guinea. This round of drilling will test for gold systems underlying artisanal gold workings within the vicinity of:

-- The Koe Koe central geochemical anomaly Abnormality or deviation. Pronounced "uh-nom-uh-lee," it is a favorite word among computer people when complex systems produce output that is inexplicable. See software conflict and anomaly detection.  where a 500 by 500

meter core averages 1.02 grams per tonne gold from 196

samples, with the greatest value being 40.7 grams per tonne

gold ("g Au/t"). The relationship between these values and our

vein hosted gold discovery is not yet determined, and the

potential for a low grade, leachable, near surface resource

remains high and relatively untested.

-- The discovery area (Sanu Filanan) located just to the

southwest of the Koe Koe central anomaly, which is the site of

the persistent quartz vein and its mineralized min·er·al·ize

over 11 metres.

-- The subsidiary anomaly located just west of the Koe Koe

central anomaly where soil geochem describes an area 900

meters long and approximately 50 metres wide averaging 1.45

grams per tonne gold.

-- Koe Koe River anomaly one kilometre to the east of the Koe Koe

central with a 900 by variably 50 - 100 metre soil geochem

anomaly averaging 1.25 grams per tonne gold.

-- The Sodyanfe geochemical anomaly located two kilometres to the

northwest of the Koe Koe area and defined by 213 samples

collected on a 25x50 meters spaced grid, where average gold

content is 0.49 g Au/t with the highest sample being 8.63 g

Au/t, and where substantial artisanal workings exist. An

isolated value of 100.8 g Au/t gold was located south of the

main Sodyanfe anomaly, indicating the likelihood of a higher
