Caspian CEO to Discuss the Role of Fair Use in the Net Neutrality Debate at Today's Freedom to Connect Conference.

Caspian:

WHO & WHAT

The increasingly contentious topic of Net Neutrality will be debated at today's Freedom to Connect conference where "a wide range of thought leaders will share their experience, insight and wisdom with policy makers." The goal of the conference is "to develop a better, more complete understanding of how technology and policy might evolve together in a virtuous cycle of economic growth and freedom."

Caspian CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Brad Wurtz is the featured luncheon speaker on the opening day of the conference. Caspian believes that the venomous back-and-forth in the Net neutrality debate is ignoring the most important issue: What can and should be done to mitigate congestion The condition of a network when there is not enough bandwidth to support the current traffic load.

congestion - When the offered load of a data communication path exceeds the capacity.
on the Internet? Without any congestion, the Net is inherently neutral because everyone gets all the bandwidth they want. And that's as fair as it gets. But what happens when traffic exceeds available capacity, as it routinely does in any oversubscribed Refers to connecting more users to a system than can be fully supported if all of them were using it at the same time. Networks and servers are almost always designed with some amount of oversubscription, counting on the fact that everybody does not need the service simultaneously.  network like the Internet?

Caspian is seeking to change the very nature and tone of the Net neutrality debate by refocusing the dialogue on what is needed to resolve the controversy: establishing of an intelligent and fair set of traffic management policies that can mitigate current congestion while funding much-needed network expansion.

Caspian's approach, which the company calls Fair Use, has been successful at improving and optimizing bandwidth utilization in the world's most heavily congested con·gest·ed
