Casio Computer Co. Japan selects Sunrise TestGen for its next generation complex ASICs.

(Tokyo) Monday announced that it has selected in exclusivity Sunrise TestGen(tm) suite of automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) tools for the design and test of complex ASICs and custom circuits throughout the corporation.

Hiroshi Inaba, general manager of Casio, remarked, "We have chosen Sunrise over the leading competition on the basis of the superiority of its products in full scan and partial scan, and also based on the excellent support from both Sunrise Test Systems, a Viewlogic company, and Itochu." Casio will be supported by Itochu Techno-Science Corp., exclusive distributor of Sunrise.

The TestGen suite of software tools consists of tightly integrated modules for testability analysis and test synthesis, high-speed fault simulation, and test vector generation. It is compatible with most standard libraries and netlist formats, and can interface with all major CAE systems including those from Viewlogic, Synopsys, Cadence and Mentor. Sunrise tools run on engineering workstations from Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics and IBM.
