Casinos Target Problem Gamblers.


Thanks to an ongoing, voluntary employee training program offered by the Casino-Owners Association of Colorado, Lakewood, problem gamblers stand a better chance of getting the help they need. COAC also provides a "train-the-trainers" program for large casinos' human resource directors, which allows the directors to incorporate compulsive-underage training in their overall employee orientation program. COAC's efforts led to the state lottery A game of chance operated by a state government.

Generally a lottery offers a person the chance to win a prize in exchange for something of lesser value. Most lotteries offer a large cash prize, and the chance to win the cash prize is typically available for one dollar.
 initiating a public education campaign, which includes the slogan "Play responsibly" on all lottery tickets, along with the number for the National Problem Gaming Hotline: (800) 522-4700. COAC also conducted a contest for casino employees last summer to create an in-state slogan for responsible gambling. The winner: "Knowing Your Limit Is Your Best Bet."
