ARCHITECTURE lovers in Liverpool are being asked to write a poem about their favourite old building.

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) was founded by William Morris and Philip Webb in 1877, to oppose what they saw as the insensitive renovation of ancient buildings then occurring in Victorian England.  want people to put pen to paper to help celebrate the organisation's 125th anniversary.

Around pounds 3,000-worth of prizes are on offer and the closing date is May 17.

Buildings could include St George's Hall, Liverpool Museum or the waterfront.

Anyone who wants to take part can send their poem to Beloved Buildings, SPAB SPAB Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (UK)
