Ashington is a town in Northumberland, England, with a population of around 28,000 people. , at around 12.50pm on Thursday, July 9. A customer had used the self-service checkout to pay for their shopping but left the pounds 40 cash back they had requested in the machine. The money was then taken and spent by the two women who used the checkout next. Anyone with any information or thinks they may have witnessed the theft, is asked to call Northumbria Police Northumbria Police is the Home Office police force responsible for policing the areas of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear in England.
