The Friends of the Cannock Chase Cannock Chase (grid reference SK000165) is a mixed area of countryside in the county of Staffordshire, England. It is an Executive Agency of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. , West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull, .

The money will be used for the 14 month Lasting Impressions project, which will be run in partnership with Cannock Chase Council.

Over the next few months, children and their parents will work with a consultant to decide on the type of art they would like to see displayed within the grounds of the centre.

Once this has been decided, the very young through to grandparents will get the chance to work with a professional artist to help design and create the artwork.

The centre's satellite sites across the district will also be involved in the project.

Lasting Impressions, run in partnership with the council's Arts Development team, also hopes to encourage parents with young children who don't usually use the centre to do so.

Louise Rose, arts development officer, said: "This is wonderful news for the group and the community"

Anyone who would like further information on the project should contact Louise on 01543 462621 or e-mail louiserose@cannockchasedc.gov.uk
