A NEW rugby league season is almost upon us and I for one can't wait. Last week I attended a heart-warming presentation night at Post Office Road - sorry the Chris Moyles Christopher Moyles (born February 22, 1974 in Leeds[1]) is an English disc jockey. He currently hosts the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, entitled The Chris Moyles Show. Stadium - where a host of young people were recipients of cheques awarded by the Featherstone Sports and Education Foundation. As part of a regeneration initiative in the former coal mining area youngsters are combining their educational studies with sport, proof that youngsters benefit from learning in a different environment to schools. Local cricket clubs are being helped with coaching costs, the highly successful Castleford and Pontefract Squash Club benefited to the tune of pounds 500 for similar purposes and a 13 year-old snooker snooker Variation of English billiards. It is played with 15 red balls and 6 variously coloured balls. Snooker arose, probably in India, as a game for soldiers in the 1870s. prodigy from Featherstone welcomed a cheque which will help him pay for tuition fees. It's nice to report good news and congratulate a local authority for it's community awareness. |
