Cash boost for disabled children.WIRRAL Wirral, metropolitan borough (1991 est. pop. 322,100), NW England, on the peninsula between the Mersey and Dee estuaries, in the Greater Manchester metropolitan area. children with disabilities are to be given short breaks away thanks to new grant funding. Aiming High for Disabled Children is offering grants to help groups and organisations start or improve schemes that increase the amount and range of activities available to young people with disabilities. Capital grants of between pounds 2,500 to pounds 25,000 are available for work on buildings, transport, facilities and equipment and voluntary funding of up to pounds 5,000 is available to cover other costs of developing the service - such as training, facility hire and staffing.
