FARMERS with an eye on improving the environment have been urged to put in last- minute bids for vital cash aid.

The deadline is Saturday for farmers to join the successful Tir Gofal agri-environment scheme, run by the Countryside Council for Wales The Countryside Council for Wales (CCW; Welsh: Cyngor Cefn Gwlad Cymru (CCGC)) is an Assembly Sponsored Public Body. It is the Welsh Assembly Government's wildlife conservation authority for Wales. , which has pounds 15m from the EU and matching funding from the Assembly.
