) today announced the completion of the review of Skagway Ore Terminal, an all-weather port located in Alaska. Cash Minerals is planning to ship Division Mountain coal from Yukon, through Skagway, to Pacific Rim markets. The proposed annual throughput of 1.2 million tonnes per year would be shipped mainly via Panamax vessels, which have coal carrying capacities of approximately 70,000 tonnes.

Basil Botha, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Cash Minerals Ltd., stated "The conclusions of this review are very positive. The review confirms that Skagway Ore Terminal can be upgraded, at an economically viable cost to its owner, in order for Division Mountain coal to be exported to key coal markets in the Pacific Rim. With the 3 1/2 day round trip shipping advantage to Asian markets over traditional west coast ports, and a mine-to-port haulage distance of only 290 kilometres, Skagway is strategically and logistically well-placed to handle Division Mountain's proposed export tonnage."

Cash Minerals engaged Sandwell Engineering Inc. to conduct the review. Sandwell is a diversified Canadian consulting engineering company with EPC (1) (Entertainment PC) See HTPC.

coal passes through terminals which have either been engineered or upgraded by Sandwell. The review of the Skagway Ore Terminal was prepared by Mr. Bill Wong, P. Eng., who visited the terminal and inspected the facilities. Mr. Wong is a senior mechanical engineer with Sandwell and has over 30 years of experience in resource-related industries. He has been the materials handling specialist on a variety of bulk terminal projects, many of them involving the export of coal. He is fully familiar with all aspects of the coal export chain, from the loading of coal into railcars and trucks at the mine to the unloading, stacking, storage, reclaiming, blending and shiploading operations at the port terminal.

According to the review, the existing terminal at Skagway can be modified to receive, store, reclaim and load coal into ocean-going bulk carriers. Modifications would include additional coal storage space and upgrading of the reclaiming and shiploading capabilities. Sandwell estimates that for a capital cost to the owner of C$9.4 million, the terminal can be upgraded to load Panamax vessels at a rate of 1,500 tonnes per hour.

Cash Minerals and Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA AIDEA Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority ) are negotiating the utilization of Skagway Ore Terminal for the shipping of Division Mountain coal (first announced on June 27, 2005). AIDEA is the contractual owner of the terminal and they have use of the docking facility in conjunction with White Pass & Yukon Rail.
