Case IH commemorates 50,000th Steiger tractor.Case IH, Racine, Wis., commemorated the production of the 50,000th Steiger tractor Steiger was founded near Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, USA by Douglas and Maurice Steiger, brothers who needed a reliable, high-powered, four-wheel drive tractor, in the 1950s. The tractor division of Steiger Farms was moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 1969. during a celebration at its Fargo, N.D., manufacturing facility on Jan. 20. The highlight of the celebration occurred when Case IH handed over the keys to the history-making tractor--a STX STX - Start Of Text 500 Quadtrac--to its new owners as it rolled off the production line. David and Mark Yaggie, Breckenridge, Minn., purchased the historic tractor. The Yaggie family--through their local Case IH dealership, Titan Machinery in Fargo, N.D.--have been long-term Steiger customers. In fact, father Leo Leo, in astronomy Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac. purchased one of the original Steiger models. The celebration at the Fargo production plant included appearances by members of the Steiger family, former company officials with the original Steiger Tractor Inc., Case IH leadership, and representatives of local and state government, including North Dakota North Dakota, state in the N central United States. It is bordered by Minnesota, across the Red River of the North (E), South Dakota (S), Montana (W), and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (N). Lt. Governor Jack Dalrymple.
