Casa Unveils New Cable Edge Platform at IBC; Wideband DOCSIS CMTS Delivers unprecedented bandwidth flexibility.

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands -- This week at IBC, Casa Systems, Inc. will introduce the latest addition to the Casa C2000 product series, the Casa C2200 Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS). The C2200 is the industry's most compact, cost effective CMTS device for delivering bandwidth-intensive broadband services today, and integrated service offerings (data, voice, video) tomorrow.

The wideband DOCSIS optimized Casa C2200 architecture offers cable operators unprecedented bandwidth flexibility with independent CMTS downstream modules and upstream modules. Capable of supporting channel bonding up to 16 downstream channels and up to eight upstream channels, the C2200 provides the industry's highest peak bandwidth per user and highest density of both downstream and upstream channels in a 1RU form factor. With the standards-based DOCSIS 3.0 implementation, the C2200 has interoperated with a range of cable modems that support channel bonding. At IBC, Casa will showcase channel bonding capability with total throughput of over 100Mbps in conjunction with NETGEAR's channel bonding cable modem (model CM232).

Casa will also debut its C2150 Downstream Digital Cable Termination System, a multi-purpose cost effective "edge-QAM" platform that allows cable operators to deliver both video-over-IP services and MPEG video services simultaneously. Designed to meet the multichannel DOCSIS RF interface specification (DOCSIS DRFI), it offers the best RF performance and most cost competitive advantage in the industry today. By supporting dynamic bandwidth resource allocation and multicasting according to user demand, C2150 is also an ideal platform for switched digital video.
