Carvell is wanting to win it for mate.

RUGBY LEAGUE IF Warrington prop Garreth Carvell goes one better than last year by gaining a Wembley winners' medal this weekend, he will dedicate it to his skipper Adrian Morley.

It was Morley's presence at the Halliwell Jones Stadium that persuaded Carvell to opt for the Wolves when he decided to leave Hull at the end of last season.

The pair have been good friends since their days together at Leeds, where Morley acted as "minder" to a 16-year-old Carvell, and they will line up together against Huddersfield in Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup final.

"When I signed for Leeds in 1997, Moz was already there and he used to take me to 'functions' and look after me," said Carvell.

"He was quite a big reason for me coming to the club. I had a lot of conversations with Moz about the set-up and he made my mind up.

"He's a real close friend of mine and it's good to have him next to you on the battle field. With all his experience and the way he plays, he does encourage you."

While Morley is able to boast a successful appearance at the old national stadium, having been a member of Leeds' triumphant side in 1999, Carvell will be the only player from either team on Saturday to have experienced the "new" Wembley.

A winner with Hull at Cardiff in 2005, Carvell was in the side beaten by St Helens at Wembley a year ago and cannot wait to experience the occasion again.

"It was absolutely fantastic," he said. "The atmosphere when you walk out is unbelievable."
