Allison Lynn Carter became the bride of William Michael Simpson II in an afternoon ceremony at First United Methodist Church First United Methodist Church is a common name for the first United Methodist church established in a particular locality. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Carter of Kosciusko. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Richard Carter, Sr. of Jackson, the late Mrs. Carter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Marchesini of Memphis. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Simpson of Greenbrier, Tennessee. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Simpson of Clarksdale, Mrs. Timothy Pittman of Greenbrier greenbrier: see smilax. , and the late Mr. Pittman.

Guests were greeted by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gilliland and Mr. and Mrs. Doug King. The foyer was accented by camellias cultivated by the bride's grandfather. Pianist Ann Carter and flutist Lynn Wiggers presented classical selections before the ceremony. Organist was Qujette Lawrence. Soloists were Kevin and Juli Bishop, and Kevin also served as worship leader. Rev. Howard Tucker officiated at the ceremony.
