Carter D. Crum Joins Nollenberger Capital Partners as Leader of San Jose Office.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Nollenberger Capital Partners, Inc. (NCPI) is pleased to announce that Carter D. Crum has joined our San Jose office as Managing Director and Partner. Crum joins us in a leadership position responsible for spearheading our growth in the South Bay market. He brings to NCPI over 11 years of management and investment advisory experience, most recently from Smith Barney.

Crum also brings to us a highly distinguished record as a Naval Officer. As the Chief Supply and Logistics Officer on the U.S.S. Trenton, he earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal leading a 65 person department that supported Navy SEAL and Marine Reconnaissance teams on assignments that included combat operations in Somalia, Bosnia, Haiti, and Liberia from 1993-1996. In 1996, Crum was promoted to the position of Chief Supply and Finance Officer for the U.S. Navy base in Yokosuka, Japan where he managed a 150 person multi-national workforce that supported 7th Fleet Operations in Southeast Asia. Crum also earned both the Admiral Zumwalt and Edward F. Ney Memorial Awards, the two most significant Supply and Logistics management awards in the Naval Service, earned his second Navy Commendation Medal, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Subsequently, Crum joined Smith Barney as a Private Wealth Management Consultant specializing in the design of customized wealth management solutions for senior level executives at several high technology firms. Specifically, Crum brings an expertise in devising hedging solutions for highly concentrated equity positions, and creating long term comprehensive estate and financial plans for executives and their families. In 2003, he teamed up with Forbes Editor and financial author Caroline Waxler to produce the book, "Stocking Up On Sin", a detailed examination of the gaming, tobacco, alcohol, and defense/weapons industries. The book, on Barrons' list of top ten business books of 2004, was published by John Wiley and Sons, and has sold thousands of copies and has been translated into five languages.

Crum, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, holds a B.A. degree in economics. At Penn, he concentrated his curriculum in finance and accounting, and enjoyed notoriety as one of Penn's key players on their football team. He also earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003, and is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco (SASF), the CFA Institute, and the Financial Planning Forum of Palo Alto. He resides in San Carlos with his wife and two children.
