Carter Brothers buys alarm business.


Atlanta-based electronic security and fire alarm company Carter Brothers L.L.C. (No. 74 on the BE INDUSTRIAL/SERVICE 100 list with $55.6 million in sales) purchased Edwards Service, a fire alarm, maintenance, installation, and inspection company in March for an undisclosed amount. The deal will increase Carter Brothers' revenues by more than $56 million and boost its workforce by about 160 employees in nearly a dozen new office locations,
