Cartaway Resources Cirque Drilling Update.

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1997--Cartaway Resources Corp. (Alberta Stock Exchange: CWA) is pleased to announce that it has completed drilling the first hole of a two hole program at its Cirque property located 85 kilometers north northwest of the Voisey's Bay deposit in Labrador.

Drill hole LBN-11-97 was designed to test a geophysical anomaly recommended by Crone Geophysics from their evaluation of the down-hole electromagnetic surveys completed on holes LBN-7 to LBN-10 which were drilled on the Cirque floor during 1996. Hole LBN-11 was collared on the same side as LBN-9 but was drilled 290 degrees at an inclination of -45 degrees for a length of 729 meters.

Disseminated to massive lenses of sulphide mineralization were encountered from 608.55 to 689.40 meters, a core length of 80.85 meters. This mineralization is located 400 meters vertically below and 75 meters to the south of that encountered in holes LBN-1 to 6 which were drilled from the top of the Cirque. Samples are enroute to the assay laboratory.

A second hole has been collared to intersect the mineralization 100 meters south of that intersected in LBN-11.
